What is Aqualyx?
Aqualyx is a water-based solution that is injected into the fatty tissue, surrounds the cells and destroys them. The remains of the fat cells are then excreted by the body safely as waste. What should I expect post treatment?
You may develop some bruising and/or minor swelling, itching or a slight burning sensation on the treated area within the first 2 days after the treatment. This is due to the inflammatory reaction that AQUALYX triggers in the fat cells. These side effects are generally manageable and short-lasting.
Is Aqualix a permanent treatment?
The destroyed fat cells will not return or be redeveloped. However, it is important to adhere to sensible lifestyle advice i.e. healthy diet and regular exercise. This is so that remaining fat cells do not increase in size.
