What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that uses a 10 gauge scalpel to gently scrape off the top layer of dulling dead skin cells in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. It is a painless procedure and can be compared to the sensation of shaving your legs, but in this case, it’s on your face.

By removing superficial skin cells, this allows for greater penetration of skincare products and creates a flawless canvas for makeup to glide on smoothly. Not only does this give you smoother and brighter skin but it also aids the removal of facial peach fuzz.

Dermaplaning is painless and safe but should only be performed on the face and not on the nose, neck or decollete. The skin may tingle afterwards and there is usually redness and slight swelling that settles over a period of days to weeks. The skin will remain pink for a number of weeks.

Dermaplaning is a good option if you have sensitive or dry skin.
