BroadBand Light Therapy (BBL) in Cheshire
“I’m Beginning To See The Light!”
That 1940’s popular song popped into mind when I was chatting to one of my clients recently. I was suggesting she try our new BBL laser treatment and everything about her body language said she wasn’t at all receptive to the idea – if anything she had started to look a little nervous! So when I asked her if she had any concerns she admitted that she would be frightened to try it. Seems the word “laser” needed explaining!
OK – so here’s the technical bit.
In 1960 a chap called Theodore Maiman built the first laser – a term originated as an acronym for “light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation”.
Maiman’s invention has since become a standard tool in diverse applications. Laser pointers highlight presentation points in lecture halls; they guide smart bombs to their targets and weld razor blades. Lasers can write patterns on objects on production lines without touching them, remove unwanted hair, and bleach tattoos. Laser range-finders in space probes profiled the surfaces of Mars and the asteroid Eros in unprecedented detail whilst in the laboratory, lasers have helped physicists to cool atoms to within a tiny fraction of a degree of absolute zero. They’re used in barcode scanners, disk drives, printers, and they can produce incredible lighting displays for entertainment. To medical surgeons they have become known as “scalpels of light” and are invaluable for a diverse array of procedures – far too many to list here!
Phew! When you take all that into consideration, I began to understand why my client was a little nervous! Fortunately I was able to reassure her that in a professional salon with fully trained staff, using a laser for BBL treatment is not only 100% safe, it’s also hugely beneficial. (Oh, and the other good piece of news is that the Jedi lightsaber is a purely fictional weapon!)
BroadBand Light Therapy (BBL) is a corrective phototherapy treatment that uses a laser to target signs of ageing, sun damage, and other skin conditions. This process is proven to restore skin to its natural beauty, making it clearer, smoother, and more vibrant.
We can’t always help why and when our face begins to show our age. Between the sun, pollution and ageing, harsh cleansers and incorrect product usage, our skin can become tired looking, dull and – that dreaded word! – wrinkled. Thankfully, with BBL, we can say goodbye to age spots, sun spots, brown spots or an uneven skin texture. BBL can pretty much fix it all, reducing the appearance of damage and taking years off your complexion. It’s also helpful for those suffering with active acne, rosacea, vascular lesions or broken capillaries.
The treatment uses short blasts of high-intensity light to produce younger-looking skin that’s firmer and more even in tone and texture. The light energy delivered by the BBL gently heats the upper layers of skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas stimulates skin cells to regenerate new collagen. This process will then restore the skin to its natural beauty, blending its natural colours and making it smoother, vibrant and younger looking. In addition, the photo-thermal energy will eliminate fine vessels that cause redness and reduce unwanted melanin that produces pigmented lesions. The machine is equipped with advanced cooling features, allowing the use of high-powered energy with minimal discomfort. For optimal results, treatment is recommended two to four times per year.
With little recovery time and no surgery, you’re going to start wondering if this gentle, non-invasive, anti-ageing, skin rejuvenating, sun damage-reversing treatment is magic! It’s not, it’s just science – and a safe, effective approach to younger looking, problem-free skin.
